We all saw it, right?

That magical second half performance at Madison Square Garden. The one where potential no. 1 pick, AJ Dybantsa put the BYU Cougars on his back as they stormed back from a 22-point deficit against a physical Clemson squad?

Yeah, it that isn’t 1st overall pick material, I don’t know what is.

Said another way, how can anyone watch the 18-year-old Swingman outscore the other team by himself in the second half of a tight game and not come away completely and utterly impressed?

I’m no basketball guru, nor scout nor anything more than a fan. But after seeing that performance? I’m convinced that a quarter of the way through the college basketball season, AJ Dybantsa has proved he has the highest upside of the undisputed top 3 picks.

He gets to his spots with ease. He can finish through contact. He can knock down a big three when needed. Oh, and when he locks in on the defensive end, he gets the job done.

That, coupled with his emergence as a playmaker (despite teamate Richie Saunders having an off-shooting night) is both a godsend for the BYU Cougar team that has big aspirations after making it to the Sweet 16 last year.

If this isn’t what a no. 1 pick looks like, I don’t know ball.
